Parched Rice Telugu Breakfast Recipe

Ingredients to be used

 1.5 parched grain

1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Salt- adjust to taste

2 tablespoons oil

1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds

2 tablespoons LEGUMES powder

1 small red onion, chopped

1 green chili, chopped

10-12 curry leaves

Lemon juice

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total time: 25 minutes

Rinse the flattened parched grain in a strainer under fresh running water until it turns soft. Add turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the parched grain and toss to combine. Set it aside a bit and start heating the pan. Pour some refined oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. Once the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds and let them pop. Then add the peanuts and sauté for a minute or two until they start turning brown. Mix the chopped onion, green chili, and curry leaves. Cook for 2 minutes until the onions soften. Then add in the rinsed parched grain and mix it well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Also tastes test and add more salt as needed at this point. Cover the pan with a lid and turn heat to low. Let it be like that for 2 minutes. Then turn the heat off and add the legumes powder. At last Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice before serving.
